Bella Ceilidh: Eadar dà theine Bealltainn [Between two Beltane Fires]

There’s a Gaelic saying “Eadar dà theine Bealltainn” which literally means between two Beltane fires, or in other words, between a rock and a hard place.

Blink and you’ll have missed the start of the Beltane season but you’ll not have missed the questionable political bonfires that have been lit over the last week and they don’t look like going out anytime soon.

The inevitable fall out from last Thursday’s election and the political provocation that we’ve been left with means that it’s perfect timing to have a Bella Caledonia Ceilidh. Not just to lick our wounds, but maybe more importantly to lift our chins and keep our connections with each other strong.

So join us for an evening of song, discussion, stories and the usual ceilidh shenanigans of a dance and a dram with the wonderful talents of world renowned singer, Kathleen MacInnes, Scots performer and poet Martin O’Conner, & all the Bella Ceilidh regulars.

Glad Cafe, Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow Thursday 15th June.
7.30 – 10.30pm
